Put on your thinking caps!

Greetings fellow blocked artists!

Well, it's week 2, I haven't read the second chapter, and I haven't yet reflected on the first. Seriously slacking!

I was in Mexico until Saturday, so I am giving myself a 2 day pass to get caught up on chapter 2.

Wanted to hear everyones intital thoughts- starting with MORNING PAGES. Here are my two questions:
1. Are morning pages effective if you don't do them first thing in the morning?

and
2. Does anyone else find their handwriting to be MUCH worse and MUCH bigger when writing said pages?

My answers:
1. I am definitely feeling more creative, just not sure if it's the fact that I'm doing the Artist's Way, or because it's a new year, or because I'm coming off 2 weeks of vacation, one of which was spent in Mexico. I suppose only time will tell! (I have evidenced my creativeness with below photo of my balloon hat making skills on the beach last week- thanks VA for pointing out the connection!)

2. My handwriting, which is usually quite neat, is big, sloppy and loopy when I write my morning pages. I think it is so I fill up the page quicker.

Your turn- discuss!

  1. Oh AND i forgot to mention in my answer that I have not done all my morning pages in the morning- sometimes in the afternoon and sometimes at night and once not at all! hehe.

  2. 1. I'd like to believe they'd work fine done anytime, but I think the point of doing them am is to empty all the BS in the brain and start fresh. But really, as long as you do them- it can only help, right?
    2. YES. Big, loopy cursive. Small notebook. Downside is that it's narrow-ruled.
